On 1. July. 2016, School of International Education(SIE), South China University of Technology(SCUT) invited excellent alumni Minister Counsellor Apipong Khunakornbodintr of the Investment Promotion Section of the Thai Embassy in Beijing, to come back alma mater to give a speech titled The international investment and trade between Thailand and China to current international students. This activity was to celebrate 64th anniversary of SCUT. SIE Deputy Dean HU Yongjian, staff from the admissions office and from the international students’ affair office attended this activity.

Minister Counsellor Apipong Khunakornbodintr said that the reason he chose to study at China is because he loves Chinese culture and wishes to be an ambassador of China-Thailand friendship. Then he shared his study experience at SCUT and encouraged international students to cherish the time to learn.

At the same time, Minister Counsellor Apipong Khunakornbodintr says Thailand also welcomes Chinese investments to its tourism industry. Preferential policies will be extended to those who invest in hospitality sectors, such as development of tourist spots, hotels and entertainment infrastructures.
