On June 25th, the 2015 Graduation Ceremony of SIE was held in Academic Auditorium of SCUT's university town campus. Dean An Ran, Deputy Deans Liu Cheng and Hu Yongjian, Prof. Cai min, Prof. Jiang Xiaoyun, Prof. Huangping and Prof. Yang Qigui as well as the teaching administrative staffs of SIE attended the ceremony which is hosted by Deputy Dean Yang.

Dean An extended her warmest congratulation to the students who will be graduated from SCUT in her speech. Then she came up with three hopes and she hoped that the students should be grateful for the parents, teachers and university. Only always with grateful hearts can we overcome the difficulties in our life and embrace the bright future. Then she hoped that everyone should develop the awareness of study for a lifetime and maintain the enthusiasm for study. Lastly Dean An hoped that every overseas student should tell parents and friends what a real China is, promoting the communication between China and other countries by pratical action. She said that the student career in SCUT would come to an end and all graduates were also standing at a brand-new starting point, hoping everyone will make greater progress in the future. Then Dean An bestowed diplomas and sent her blessings by herself to the qualified graduates including 137 undergraduates, 53 postgraduates and 5 doctoral students. 

SIE also gave commendation to the excellent tutors and graduates. Dean An bestowed the certificate of Excellent Tutor to Prof. Huangping from School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering and Prof. Yang Qigui from  School of Mathematics for their work in cultivating overseas students. During the student career, many students study hard, achieving great results in their specific fields. Doctoral students including PHAN BA BINH from School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering who majors in Mechanical Design and Theory and WALEED MAHGOUB OSMAN ABDALLA from School of Mathematics who majors in Applied Mathematics were awarded the Outstanding Award in Academy. And Deputy Dean Liu and Prof. Jiang bestowed the certificates of 2015 Excellent Graduate to six students including Mario, a Indonesian undergraduate who majors in International Chinese Education.

To express their attachment to their alma mater, the overseas students also prepared delicate souvenirs for the school. The students from the first session of developing countries advanced master class sent a delicate painting about beautiful Wushan Campus as a gift to SIE. Students from Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language produced an album, which recorded the most happy moment of every student for last four years. The gift from the Students of Vietnam 2+2 Program is the unique Vietnamese watercolour painting. All these souvenirs expressed the grateful hearts to SIE. Many graduates said they would remember they are one part of SCUT for ever.

Time flies. And the days in SCUT just pass by. On the brand-new starting point in your life, SCUT hopes that all the students will remain the spirits of hardworking, being tough and never giving up developed in SCUT. It's hard to say goodbye for those memories still in our hearts. SCUT always be your home for your memory and your dream!
