July 14th to 18th, 2015, a delegation of School of International Education, SCUT, attended The 21st International Conference of the IAICS cum The 11th Biennial International Conference of the CAFIC at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
The 21st International Conference of IAICS cum The 11th Biennial International Conference of CAFIC organized 6 keynote speeches, 75 research sessions, which attracted more than 300 academic researchers. SIE Dean An was invited by the conference and hosted 2 research sessions. She made a speech about her research achievement. SIE Wei xianpeng, Fang Yanqin and Doctorial researcher He Peiting all attended the conference and made speeches.

The Chairman of IAICS, Professor Chen Guoming, from University of Rhode Island, introduced new concepts of Moral Dedication, Self-cultivation, Context profundity, Action dexterity, and his new research achievement.

The Chairman of CAFIC, Professor Sun Youzhong, from Beijing Foreign Language Studies University, made a speech about Cross-cultural competence and critical thinking.

Professor Michael Harris Bond, from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, made a lecture about the important factors of multicultural study in intercultural communication.
The International Association for Intercultural Communication Studies consists of scholars from a range of the cultural sciences who are dedicated to doing research on communication across cultures.
Founded in 1995, China Association for Intercultural Communication (CAFIC) is a non-governmental academic association under the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Branch, Chinese Association of Higher Education. Dedicated to establishing a platform and pooling resources, CAFIC intends to promote the exchange and cooperation among Chinese and international scholars in the field of intercultural studies, foster intercultural research and education, and make contribution to China-foreign cultural exchange and the making of a harmonious world.
