On March 17, 2017, the second Confucius Classroom at the Confucius Institute of the Lancaster University held its opening ceremony at Hawes Side Academy in the Hauser Elementary School Conference Hall. The Consul-General of the Chinese Consulate General in Manchester,WANG Ying, the Vice Consul, PAN Jun,the Mayor of Blackpool, Ms.Rosen, the Local Congressman of Blackpool, Mr.Masden, the faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Lancaster University, Professor Gaye attended the ceremony.

Prof. Gaye, Associate Dean of the School of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Lancaster, stated that the establishment of the Confucius Classroom at Hauser's Primary School further affirmed the efforts of the Confucius Institute at Lancaster University for local community services. The classroom will provide a better platform for local children, students, and parents to learn about China through language teaching and culture courses.
Students of Hawes Side Academy prepared performances of Chinese song and dance, poetry recitation, martial arts, drama, a fashion show, and other interesting displays for guests.

Following the successful opening of the Confucius Classroom in May 2015, the Confucius Institute of Lancaster University, emphasized the construction of teaching sites. In August 2016, the Confucius Institute Headquarters / Hanban approved the application for the establishment of the Confucius Classroom at Ho Sai Tak Primary School. In September that same year, the construction of the classroom started in full. At present, the Confucius Institute at Lancaster University has regular Chinese language instruction in two counties in northwestern England. In addition to the two Confucius Classes that have been established, the Confucius Institute of Lancaster University has 10 additional teaching points, with a total enrollment of 2,000.
