On March 10th, a German delegation paid a visit to SCUT, discussing on multiple cooperative issues including building a Confucius Institute in Ingolstadt in Germany.
The delegates, led by German Bundestag member Dr. Reinhard Brandl and First Mayor of Ingolstadt Dr. Christian Lösel, were received by SCUT Vice President Zhang Xichun accompanied by officials from SCUT International Office and School of International Education.
The new Confucius Institute is a multilateral effort initiated by SCUT, Audi AG, Ingolstadt’s municipal government and Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt.
Besides showing expectations on accelerating the establishment of the Confucius Institute, Vice President Zhang Xichun also gave his prospect on more wide-ranging collaboration between SCUT and the city of Ingolstadt.
Situating in the centre of Bavaria, Ingolstadt is a city full of industrial tradition and history. It is also where the headquarters of Audi AG, a world-famous automobile brand, is located. As SCUT’s counterpart in Ingolstadt, Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt is a leading polytechnic university particularly specialized in electron techniques and automobile manufacturing and testing techniques.
The visit created a great opportunity to strengthen communication and cooperation between the two universities, as well as between the cities of Guangzhou and Ingolstadt.
