On November 27th, 2015, the 15th international conference of the international association for Language and Intercultural Communication was held in Peking University. The meeting with the theme “Cross Cultural Communication and Social Practice -- the perspective of dialogue and the trend of the future” was jointly sponsored by Peking University and the international association for language and intercultural Communication, undertaken by Institute of World Literature in School of Foreign Languages at Peking University. 

The keynote speech of Professor An Ran named "Cross-Cultural Communication studies round research of the cross- cultural adaptation issues", which is in English Excellent Course for overseas students of the Ministry of Education and last for one hour. Professor An Ran’s Cross-Cultural communication studies course is a typical Multicultural classroom, which consists of Chinese and foreign students and needs them to interact with each other and set up the Cross- Cultural group to complete assignments arranged by Professor An Ran. In this class, the Chinese and foreign students are all faced with the problem of Cross-Cultural adaptation. Therefore, under the guidance of the teacher, they realize the aim of adaptation through interaction in the process of classroom interaction and group assignments. Professor An Ran’s research findings aroused enthusiastic feedback from Chinese and foreign experts. As a consequence, Chinese and foreign scholars all eager to further discuss with her about the Cross-Cultural adaptation issues in the multicultural classroom in the tea time.

The international association for language and intercultural Communication (IALIC) is an international academic organization which covers the academic and industry experts and is of great influence. Working under the important Interdisciplinary framework, members share the view of interaction between living language and the theory and practice of Cross-Cultural understanding. Professor Holmes Prue, professor of Durham University, serves as the president of the association. The conference invited more than 130 scholars from around the world, including Professor Joseph LoBianco of Melbourne University, Professor Adrian Holliday of Canterbury Christ Church University, Professor Gao Yihong of Peking University, Professor Wu Zongjie of Zhejiang University, Professor CorneliusB.Parttand of Temple University, Professor Amy Alice Chastain of University of Liverpool and other famous scholars.
