On the morning of June 17, students of theDeveloping Countries MBA programorganized a symposium with SCUT leaders and staffs. The attended leaders are Prof. Zhu Min, Vice President of SCUT, Prof. An Ran, dean of SIE, Mr. Yang Haosong and Mr. Hu Yongjian, Deputy Dean of SIE, Prof. Li Zhihong,deputy dean of School of business administration.
In the symposium, five students’ representatives from Mongolia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Ethiopia briefly reported the study and life situation and progress in this year. In the speech, they sincerely express gratitude to the Chinese government to provide them with such a precious opportunity to learn and improve themselves in China. They also praised SCUT for their education and training, NAWAPHANPIMOLKUSUMA (Thailand Ministry of Education undersecretary deputy level liaison) from Thailand, said thatin this year, she has learned much knowledge and improved herself, visiting to WuHan, ChaoShan, NanJing, QuanZhou and so on, she has learned the Chinese culture from various angles and also deeply felt the kindness from Chinese government and SCUT. BOUTHALATH SOULIY (the deputy director of procuratorate in Vientiane, Laos) from Laos, said that during his study in SCUT, he not only gainenormous economic and management experiences and knowledge, but also learned a lot of truth of life, what’s more, he also felt China's rapid economic development, technological progress and educational system with the world's advanced level; In addition, KEBA HUNDE YADETA (chairman of the Investment Committee of Oromia Zone Construction) from Ethiopia, believed that through the studyin SCUT for one year, he not only had a deeper understanding on Chinese economy and culture, but also learned a lot of knowledge, which enable him to better serve the government and people. The experience gained in China can also make him become the mediation of the communication between China and Ethiopia, which promote the bilateral cooperation.
In the symposium, Prof. Zhu Min, the Vice President of SCUT, gave a theme speech, he pointed out that in nearly one year's study, students had fully learned the various management courses and Chinese culture, felt the broad and profound Chinese culture as well as the rapid development of the economy, he was so glad that the students had learned a lot, also, he hoped that students will always cherish the friendship and gratitude to the SCUT and Chinese government when they return home, also, he hope them can really understand the meaning of Chinese characters 和 which reflects the Chinese traditional wisdom as well as to be the bridge of friendship and cooperation between China and their own country, actively contribute to the sound development of bilateral relations, he also wants to invite students return to school to reunion every year if there is an opportunity, friendship forever!
The program of High level MBA program for developing countries in SCUT is one of the first Excellence Scholarshipto study in China sponsored by China Ministry of Education, which aims to develop senior specialized personnel of business and management for developing countries. There are 12 students in the first program, which are from Mongolia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand and Ethiopia respectively. Our school attaches great importance to this program. This program is conductedby the School of International Education and School of Business Administration. In the process, SCUT and SIEinsist on high standardand successfully completed the first program. The second program of the students will be enrolled in September this year. (Luo Shanke)
